Pourquoi un portail sur les jeunes filles dans le secteur des TIC (technologies de l'information et de la communication)?
Avez-vous déjà pensé à travailler dans le secteur des TIC? Peut-être ne savez-vous pas par où commencer? Ce portail peut vous aider. Il contient quantité d'informations pratiques: bourses, stages, possibilités de formation, réseaux en ligne, activités organisées dans le cadre de la Journée des jeunes filles dans le secteur des TIC, etc. Pourquoi s'intéresser au secteur des TIC? Avant tout parce que la demande en personnel compétent dans ce secteur est amenée à croître et que de nombreuses entreprises et organisations cherchent activement à recruter des femmes hautement qualifiées dans les domaines techniques. L'objet de ce portail est double: encourager les jeunes filles et jeunes femmes à se préparer à une carrière dans le secteur des TIC et expliquer aux parents, enseignants et autres parties prenantes en quoi cela est une bonne chose, non seulement pour les intéressées, mais aussi pour l'économie et la société.

Qu'est-ce que la Journée des jeunes filles dans le secteur des TIC?
Malgré les avantages indéniables que cela représente, de nombreuses jeunes filles ne pensent pas une seconde qu'elles pourraient travailler dans le secteur des TIC. Il y a en effet une méconnaissance, parmi les étudiantes, les enseignants et les parents, de ce qu'une telle carrière peut offrir. C'est en invitant les jeunes filles à rencontrer des professionnels du public ou du privé actifs dans ce secteur pour découvrir en quoi consistent concrètement ces métiers que l'on peut changer les mentalités. C'est pourquoi les membres de l'UIT ont déclaré, par la Résolution 70 de la Conférence de plénipotentiaires de l'UIT (Guadalajara, 2010), le quatrième jeudi du mois d'avril de chaque année, "Journée des jeunes filles dans le secteur des TIC".
