2012年，来自世界各地的信息通信年轻女性日活动组织者以新颖且有创意的方法开展庆祝活动，提高人们对ICT行业所提供机会的了解，并使年轻女性了解ICT行业可带给她们的机遇。庆祝活动由所有利益攸关方自行创办，其策划适合各自的需求与财力，多数活动的参与人数在20至500人之间。有一个国家在广泛和高层次的政府支持下并由公共和私营出资，举办了上千场全国性庆祝活动。总体而言，在近90个国家举办的活动使全球30 000多名年轻女性提高了能力。
我们为什么要通过2013年国际信息通信年轻女性日影响更多年轻女性呢？一些国家可能希望在学校或ICT公司举办全国性的庆祝活动。其他国家则可能希望举行一系列区域活动，还有的国家或许是首次举办年轻女性日活动。
