The Girls in ICT initiative at ITU is a global effort to raise awareness on empowering and encouraging girls and young women to consider studies and careers in ICTs. The International Girls in ICT Day, celebrated on the 4th Thursday of April each year, is an initiative backed by ITU Member States in ITU Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Guadalajara, 2010). ITU acknowledges the efforts of the Member States to actively celebrate the International Girls in ICT Day. Please see here for the list of Ministries of Member States that have been a valuable part of the celebration of this initiative.

Up to now, almost 3000 events in 121 countries have taken place empowering over 70, 000 girls and young women globally.

This incredible success of the Girls in ICT Day celebrations around the world is dependent on the continuous commitment of our partners, sponsors, and stakeholders.

We would like to thank and recognize the following corporate partners that have been instrumental in celebrating the International Girls in ICT Day.
