Women are still not proportionately represented among ICT professionals. The incentives to attract them to the digital sector and their awareness of the benefits of the participation in this growing and rewarding field remain low. As an initiative to assist in increasing knowledge and awareness of opportunities for women to serve in this field, mHub had a Creative Design Concept workshop for young ladies in ICT living in Malawi. The event hosted 64 young ladies, namely from Lilongwe Technical College, Don Bosco Technical College and other surrounding institutions. The event started at 9:00am and ended at 3:30pm.

The event was a success and left young ladies feeling inspired and leaving with knowledge and new skills in the creative design process. They were trained in design concept and the steps they need to take to come up with a design concept using Adobe Photoshop.

The girls were then inspired by a talk from one of the winners of the TNM Smart Challenge Thandi Magasa. “I am inspired and I have enjoyed my day” said Mercy Nkhosi a student at Don Bosco Technical College.
