Girls in ICT Day Events
2015, April 23
Australia
Department of Communications

Thursday 23 April marks global Girls in ICT Day, and to celebrate Minister Turnbull recorded a techtalk with three woman who have all pursued different ICT paths:

- Hala Batainah - Federal Director, Microsoft Australia

-  Marie Johnson - Chief Digital Officer, Centre for Digital Business

- Jessica Wilson – Founder, e-commerce app Stashd.

The Department recorded some short vox-pop videos with Hala Batainah and Marie Johnson as well as three young women working at Microsoft Australia, that are available on the Department's Girls in ICT day 2015 youtube play list.

These stories asked questions such as 'who inspired them' and recorded Message's to young girls interested in ICT.  We hope to build on these stories each year as we continue to celebrate Girls in ICT Day.

Organised by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), this annual event raises the profile of women working in ICT and encourages girls and young women to study IT and consider a future career in the area.
