Vida Anima Ackom is a Ghanaian Software Developer by profession and owns an Educational Software Company called Real IT Solutions Ltd. She holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration and has 7 years experience in Computer programming.

She started her ICT Company in 2004 which produces highly interactive Educational Software for children in all subjects. The Software is in line with the Ghana Educational Service Syllabus. Her Educational Programs called “EasyLearn” is purposely designed to improve the academic performance of children by providing lessons, Exercises, Activities, Games and 3D Science experiments in a fun and exciting way which they can use to play and learn at the same time.

What would you say are the most challenging and the most satisfying aspects of your work?

The challenge would be the perception that ICT is a man's job and the satisfaction of been successful in that field.

If there is one message you would like to convey to young women to encourage them to consider a profession in the ICT sector, what would it be?

I would like to use this opportunity to encourage all girls to choose and join an ICT Profession.

With Commitment, hard work, and perseverance, woman can contribute enormously to the ICT sector and also make an impact in Communities, Countries and the World as a whole, not forgetting the financial and economic impendence for themselves and others involved directly and indirectly.

The image, reputation and impartiality of International Girls in ICT Day must be maintained. The ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners may, in particular, not be used in any way which may imply the endorsement of the ITU of any product, opinion, or activity and in a manner prejudicial or detrimental to the interest of International Girls in ICT Day.
ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners must be used in their complete form without alteration or deletion. If used in conjunction with other logos, the International Girls in ICT logo must be reproduced in the same size and proportions as the other logos.
