Rafik Hariri University in Meshref, Damour Lebanon has organized its first event "Girls in ICT Day", as part of the ITU membership, on April 28, 2016 in the Grand Theater on RHU campus.

Prof. Ladan, Dean of the College of Sciences and Information Systems, started the event by welcoming everyone especially the CIS and CCE alumni for their participation and stated that this event "Girls in ICT Day" is an international event initiated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and is celebrated on the 4th Thursday in April every year. He added that the main aim of the event is to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Dean Ladan concluded his introduction by announcing that RHU is the first university in Lebanon to be an academic member of the ITU, and this membership brings many benefits to RHU in general, and to its faculty and students in ICT in particular where we can participate in many conferences and workshops and play a role in setting standards in the area of telecommunications, cybersecurity, internet, and mobile cloud computing.

Policy for use of the ITU Girls in ICT Logos and Banners

The ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners may only be used if the activities of the user are consistent with the aims, purposes and activities of International Girls in ICT Day.
The use of ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners must contribute to or provide an opportunity to promote International Girls in ICT Day.
The image, reputation and impartiality of International Girls in ICT Day must be maintained. The ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners may, in particular, not be used in any way which may imply the endorsement of the ITU of any product, opinion, or activity and in a manner prejudicial or detrimental to the interest of International Girls in ICT Day.
ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners must be used in their complete form without alteration or deletion. If used in conjunction with other logos, the International Girls in ICT logo must be reproduced in the same size and proportions as the other logos.
