The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST)

The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) is a non-profit association established in 1981. Our mission is to promote, encourage and empower women and girls in science, engineering and technology.
Our Goals:

  • To promote public awareness of the opportunities for women in science, engineering and technology by providing information and resources which aim to influence public policy and present positive messages about women’s achievements and potential in this area.
  • To encourage the full participation of girls and women in all aspects of science, engineering and technology education, through the provision of programs and activities which are developed and implemented in partnership with relevant community members.
  • To increase the representation, retention and status of women in the science, engineering and technology workplace by providing networking and mentoring opportunities and advocating for women-friendly workplaces and education policies.

Policy for use of the ITU Girls in ICT Logos and Banners

  1. The ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners may only be used if the activities of the user are consistent with the aims, purposes and activities of International Girls in ICT Day.
  2. The use of ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners must contribute to or provide an opportunity to promote International Girls in ICT Day.
  3. The image, reputation and impartiality of International Girls in ICT Day must be maintained. The ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners may, in particular, not be used in any way which may imply the endorsement of the ITU of any product, opinion, or activity and in a manner prejudicial or detrimental to the interest of International Girls in ICT Day.
  4. ITU Girls in ICT logos and banners must be used in their complete form without alteration or deletion. If used in conjunction with other logos, the International Girls in ICT logo must be reproduced in the same size and proportions as the other logos.
