1. Do I have to pay to search the scholarships, training and other ICT opportunities on the Portal?
All content on the website is available for free! There are no fees to use the website. Users are, however, requested to source “ITU Girls in ICT Portal” when they reproduce any content from the website. See Question 8 below.
2. Who do I contact for more information about the programs listed on the Portal?
Please contact directly the sponsor of the company or organization that offers the programs. ITU does not have any additional information about any of the programs. Please use the contact details for the program sponsor provided in each listing!
3. How do I contact the ITU Girls in ICT Portal?
If you would like to contact us with comments or questions, just send an email to girlsinict@itu.int.
4. Do I have to register to use the Portal?
Girls and young women wishing to search the Portal don’t need to register. However, you are invited to subscribe to receive updates. If you’re interested in being informed when new content is added, see Question 7.
Those wishing to add or edit one of the programs (scholarships, contests and awards, training and internships, online networks, tech camps, Girls in ICT Day activities or other programs) need to register. Registration is easy! See Question 5 below. Once you’ve registered, you can use the Login button whenever you visit the website.
5. How do I register as a program contributor?
Only someone affiliated with a program can submit, edit or update information about a program.
You must first register as a program contributor. Just click on the Register link on the ICT Studies and Careers page (https://girlsinict.org/register/contributor) and follow the instructions. Once you’ve registered and agreed to the Terms of Use, the Administrator will review the registration. The Administrator will contact the organization in question if necessary or contact you for further details to verify your affiliation with the program.
6. How can I submit, edit or update program information?
Once your registration is approved by the Administrator (see Question 5), you can submit, edit or update program information following the instructions you will find online after clicking on “Program Posting” under the “Create Program” link. Please remember that users can search the Portal by type of program, region and country. Select as many types of relevant programs as apply so users will best find your program! You need to click on both region and country to select the country where the program is offered. If you don’t select a country, users looking for a program for a specific country may not find your program!
The Administrator will review all submissions before publishing them on the web and will contact the organization in question if necessary to verify information. All organizations whose programs are included are encouraged to register to facilitate contact and to keep their program information up-to-date!
7. Can I receive updates from the portal?
Yes, subscribers will receive updates when new programs, events and profiles are added. First complete the simple subscriber registration. Just click on the Subscribe tab at the top of the homepage (https://girlsinict.org/register/subscription). Once you have completed your registration you will receive an email with your login instructions. Once you login to the system you'll be taken to a page where you can configure what type of updates you'd like to receive. Please note that subscribers do not have program contribution rights. See Questions 5 and 6 if you wish to submit, edit or update a program.
8. Can I copy the content of this website?
You are free to copy content, but we ask you to recognize the source by noting the following statement “Source: ITU Girls in ICT Portal”. We also ask that when you reproduce materials published on the Website, not to hide the fact that the document originates from the Website.
