The flatiron school offers 12 week intensive coding courses with subsequent job placement opportunities. They hold courses for adults, high schoolers, and companies.  The school offers scholarships to female students.

FOCUS on Information Technology is an informational resource for students with a specific section for girls in ICT. It includes includes descriptions of ICT jobs, information on mentoring programs, a list of tech-terms, as well as profiles of women working in the field.

Free Code Camp offers the opportunity for students to learn to code while gaining real-world coding experience volunteering for non-profit organizations.

 A digital library of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) career development information for middle school and early high school youth. The goal of this project is to create a comprehensive career development resource that is inviting and engaging to diverse populations of middle and early high school students, that builds on their diverse interests, and draws them into a range of career exploration options and resources.

GMS will select 1,000 talented students each year to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice. We provide Gates Millennium Scholars with personal and Online Networks/  Training & Internships/  Contests and awards/  Other development through our leadership programs along with Scholarhips/  Online Networks/  Training & Internships/  Other support throughout their college career.

Geek Girl offers tech conferences, workshops, seminars, public speaking and consulting services to empower women and girls at all technical levels.

Fellowship covering all but $1,500 of tuition for students of the UXDI program.  Applications open November 1.

The Generation Google Scholarship was established to help aspiring computer scientists excel in technology and become leaders in the field. Selected students will receive 10,000 USD (for those studying in the US) or 5,000 CAD (for those studying in Canada) for the 2014-2015 school year. As part of the scholarship, current high school seniors who are entering their first year of university in 2014-2015 will be required to attend Google’s Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) in the summer of 2014. Current undergraduate or graduate students will be invited to attend the Google Scholars’ Retreat in the summer of 2014.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply, applicants must:
- Be a current high school senior
Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student at a university in the US or Canada for the 2014-2015 school year
- Intend to pursue a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree, or a degree in a closely related technical field
- Exemplify leadership and demonstrate a passion for computer science and technology
Exhibit a strong record of academic achievement
- Be a student from an underrepresented group in computer science (African American, Hispanic, American Indian, Female, or a Person with a Disability)
- Be available to attend Google’s Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) in the summer of 2014.

Please complete the online application which must include:
- General background information (includes contact information and information about your current and intended universities for the 2014-2015 school year)
- Current resume
- Academic transcripts from your current and prior universities (if you have earned a prior degree)
- Two letters of reference from a professor, instructor, adviser or supervisor
- Responses to four essay questions

In celebration of International Girls in ICT Day 2015, g-Hive and Cisco Belux present "Girls & The Future Internet":  A hands-on workshop - in English, Dutch, French & German - for girls*, ages 13-17, to promote active participation and leadership by girls in designing and building the Internet of tomorrow, for fun, safety and wellbeing.

This two-hour workshop aims to:

• Give participants a background on the Internet of Things;
• Inspire participants to develop IoT projects with a focus on health, safety, entertainment, fashion, "smart" cities, etc.; and
• Promote participation in a global Cisco-sponsored contest for IoT projects by girls.

Workshop Leader:

This workshop is organised by Ms. Rosanna Kurrer, DLI Digital Literacy Lead & g-Hive Community Manager, with the generous support of Cisco Belux.

Language: Workshop will be carried out in English with simultaneous support in Dutch, French, German and other languages. If you don't see your language here, please inquire.  The g-Hive network is large and diverse with members speaking many languages and eager to get you involved in learning about technology!

Registration & Scholarship:

DLI, g-Hive and inQube activities are delivered to participants in return for a suggested donation, strictly limited to the target public and capacity, and registration for each event via the relevant event page is required.  Donations collected go toward workshop administration costs, materials and overhead, and scholarships.  Underaged participants must be registered by a parent or legal guardian and the appropriate release forms signed and submitted.  If you or someone you know would like to be considered for a scholarship for this or any other DLI community activities, please contact us.
