The goal of IBM Programming Contest Central is to promote Computer Science and Information Technology opportunities to high school students. We encourage high school students, high schools and post-secondary institutions to use the resources provided in order to host their own programming contests. We also want to build a community of high school Computer Science teachers by providing the chance to network and share resources with each other.

Through partnerships with governments, nonprofits and businesses, we aim to empower youth to imagine and realize their full potential by connecting them with greater education, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities. The MAGiC Mid-Atlantic Girls Collaborative brings together organizations and individuals that are committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to encourage collaboration and improve inter-program communication. Our goal is to strengthen capacity, increase continuation of girl-serving STEM programs and create a wider audience for gender-related STEM issues. MAGiC serves Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.

The Anita Borg Systers Pass-It-On (PIO) Awards honor Anita Borg’s desire to create a network of  women technologists helping one another. The cash awards, funded by donations from the Systers Online Community and others, are intended as means for women established in technological fields to support women seeking their place in the fields of technology. The program is called “Pass-It-On” because it comes with the moral obligation to “pass on” the benefits gained from the award.

Pass-it-on Award applications are open to any woman over 18 years old in or aspiring to be in the fields of computing. Awards are open to women in all countries and range from $500.00 to $1000.00 USD. Applications covering a wide variety of needs and projects are encouraged, such as:

• Small amount to help with studies, job transfers or other transitions in life.
• A broader project that benefits girls and women.
• Projects that seek to inspire more girls and women to go into the computing field.
• Assistance with educational fees and materials.
• Partial funding source for larger scholarship.
• Mentoring and other supportive groups for women in technology or computing.

Savana Signatures’ strategy is inspired by Ghana’s vision of a just and free society. Savana Signatures (SavSign) has therefore aligned her mission and vision with two priorities of the Medium-Term Development Strategy initiated in 2009- the Ghana Shared Growth and Development Agenda. 

With a mission of “to equip youth, women and vulnerable groups with ICT skills for their personal and professional development through the innovative use of ICT” and a vision of a “society where relevant information, knowledge and skills for development are enhanced by equal access to and use of ICT”, Savana Signatures intends to focus on the use of ICT to contribute to Ghana’s vision through human resource development and transparent and accountable government agencies.

This contest  offers 10 female-led startups 6 weeks of business training, connecting them with mentors, consultants, and finance. They offer monetary and in-kind prizes to winners of the competition.

It is a program to teach girls and women to develop mobile phone apps and solve other real-world problems through technology.

The North-eastern Wisconsin Chapter of AITP established this award program to honor the memory of Sherry Anklam, a Chapter Past President who embodied all of the best values that this award is based on.

The criteria for selection for this award includes academic achievement, leadership, AITP student chapter participation and community involvement.

 

Award Qualifications

Applicant must be a paid member of a student chapter affiliated with the Northeastern Wisconsin AITP Chapter (Dues must be submitted to National AITP)

Applicant can be a half-time student or a full-time student (as defined by their institution) pursuing a degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.

The award will be made on merit without reference to financial need
