Google Women In Technology (GWIT) is an initiative by Googlers pledged to the cause of connecting women in the Middle East and Africa in the field of web technologies.

Sharing their success stories to inspire new talent, providing students and professionals alike with a platform to get guidance from women who’ve made their mark, share their ideas, suggestions, success stories, and spread the cheer far and wide.

GWIT extends its boundaries to the offline world with regular Events hosted in and around the Middle East and Africa region, for women to come forth and experience the technological advances and opportunities available to women across the globe.

SEWA is an organization that helps women from rural areas and/or working in informal sectors. It organizes programs to develop women’s ICT skills.

It offers several training opportunities  for kids and young people specifically designed for different age groups related to programming, game design, robotics etc. These include also the Alexa Café specifically targeting girls.

The International Taskforce on Women and Information and Communication Technologies (ITF) is a community of expertise of organizations, institutions, businesses, academia and individuals working to increase the economic, social, and educational opportunities for women and girls in the knowledge society in a measurable way.  The ITF is recognized as a Community of Expertise (CoE) by the UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development (UN GAID).

A Google initiative to inspire girls to engage in coding and build a community around girls and coding.

Microsoft's DigiGirlz programs give high school girls the opportunity to learn about careers in technology, connect with Microsoft employees, and participate in hands-on comupter and technology workshops.

Microsoft is proud to offer technology programs that target youth. This one-day event, held at multiple Microsoft locations worldwide, is designed to provide high school girls with a better understanding of what a career in technology is all about.

Microsoft YouthSpark is a companywide initiative designed to create opportunities for hundreds of millions of youth around the world. Through partnerships with governments, nonprofits and businesses, we aim to empower youth to imagine and realize their full potential by connecting them with greater education, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities. We want to empower youth to change their world.

The MAGiC Mid-Atlantic Girls Collaborative brings together organizations and individuals that are committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to encourage collaboration and improve inter-program communication. Our goal is to strengthen capacity, increase continuation of girl-serving STEM programs and create a wider audience for gender-related STEM issues. MAGiC serves Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.

Rails Girls - Get started with tech

The of Rails Grils aim is to give tools and a community for women to understand technology and to build their ideas. Theydo this by providing a great experience on building things and by making technology more approachable.

First event, held in Helsinki in November 2010 got over 100 interested girls signed-up for the workshop.

Since then the free events have expanded to Shanghai, Singapore, Tallinn, Berlin, Krakow and many more attracting thousands of girls to the world of web building. Rails Girls aims to open up technology and make it more approachable for girls and women.

The weekend event is free and open to all enthusiastic girls and women. Rails for Girls wants to empower girls to build the capacity and acquire the tools to conquer the last online frontier.

Founded by former astronaut Sally Ride, Sally Ride Science is an organization whose mission is "to increase the number of girls who are technically literate and who have the foundation they need to go on in science, math, or engineering." Savana Signatures’ strategy is inspired by Ghana’s vision of a just and free society. Savana Signatures (SavSign) has therefore aligned her mission and vision with two priorities of the Medium-Term Development Strategy initiated in 2009- the Ghana Shared Growth and Development Agenda. 

With a mission of “to equip youth, women and vulnerable groups with ICT skills for their personal and professional development through the innovative use of ICT” and a vision of a “society where relevant information, knowledge and skills for development are enhanced by equal access to and use of ICT”, Savana Signatures intends to focus on the use of ICT to contribute to Ghana’s vision through human resource development and transparent and accountable government agencies.

SciTech is an after school program developed by the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center for fourth through sixth grade girls at San Diego elementary schools. The girls meet twice a week to engage in hands-on science investigations on everything from solar car design to the chemistry of cosmetics.

Organisation that puts girls in contact with women working in technology, offering workshops and other technology-related events such as hackathons.

Techbridge inspires girls to discover a passion for technology, science and engineering, empowering our future innovators and leaders. Through hands-on activities, role models and worksite visits, family outreach, and teacher development, Techbridge builds a strong network of support for girls to expand their career options, instill confidence and diversify our future workforce.
