In a series of full day courses and exclusive industry events, participants will learn the new leadership skills for a digital age, gain mastery of digital business models and develop disciplined approaches to exploiting convergence opportunities. For the first time, one program will provide TMT executives with actionable strategies for succeeding in the new economy.

CEPIS is the representative body of national informatics associations throughout greater Europe. CEPIS' main aim is to promote the development of the information society in Europe. As part of its work CEPIS aims to promote the participation and advancement of women in ICT-related careers (promote gender equality in the ICT sector) and encourage and stimulate the interest of young people, particularly women, to engage in ICT-related studies and subsequent careers. Its activities in the area include Women in ICT Task Force, CEPIS Award for Women in ICT and Women in ICT role models. 

 

National non-profit dedicated to closing the tech gender gap by running a national computer science competition for middle school girls and workshops around the country.

Delphix Technology Scholarship for women is a coding competition. The award for the winning software program is $5,000 to be used toward studies. Applicants must  identify as women and will be enrolled in college full-time in calendar year 2016 pursuing a technical degree such as computer science, mathematics, information technology, electrical engineering, or applied mathematics, etc. International students who meet this criteria may also apply.

The Digital Empowerment Foundation is an ICT for Development organization that sponsors a variety of projects to empower women and other marginalized groups including "Helping Women Go Online," "Wireless Women for Entrepreneurship and Empowerment (W2E2)," and the "mBillionth Awards," among others.

The Digital Leadership Institute has a unique mission to increase participation of girls and women in ESTEAM (entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) studies, careers and leadership around the world.  The following are DLI led initiatives in these areas: AdaAwards.com, g-Hive.org, inQube , Girls Code Europe, DigitalMuse.org , Women2020.org.

DIGITEST, an initiative of Digital Peers International is a children and youth empowerment program aimed at bridging the digital divide. DIGITEST is an annual IT based summer creative camp and competition for children and youth ages 8 - 18 years  where they are taught to develop content for the internet, learn and work with various software covering desktop publishing, web design, animation amongst others. Emphasis is also placed on the development of quality youth leadership, promotion of role models and inculcating values in children.

The Objectives of DIGITEST are as follows:

1. To generate and develop ICT capabilities in children and young people
2. To promote knowledge based summer camping for children and youth
3. To refocus youthful energies to gainful activities

Now in its 13th edition, DIGITEST has grown to become the largest IT camp for children in Africa, attracting an average of 300 - 400 children on an annual basis.

DIGITEST 2012 is scheduled to be held in Abuja, Nigeria from August 5 - 16, 2012

Donne e Technologie is a women's technology network that holds conferences, the technovisionaire annual competition for women, and projects to help young people get involved in STEM.

The EngineerGirl website is a service of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE).  It grew out of the work of the Committee on the Diversity of the Engineering Workforce, and was launched in February of 2001. The EngineerGirl website is part of an NAE project to bring national attention to the opportunity that engineering represents to all people at any age, but particularly to women and girls.

The ITU-UN Women GEM-TECH Award will demonstrate a commitment to advancing gender equality and women's empowerment through ICTs. This annual award seeks to create a platform for advancing women's meaningful engagement with ICTs and their role as decision-makers and producers within this sector. 

Imagine a world where you can attend your Economics class from the comfort of your own room, where your gerbil can send you a picture to say it's hungry, or your dress can tell when you'll need a rain coat....  If you think this is the World of Tomorrow, you're in for a world of surprises!  This phenomenon is called the "Internet of Things".  It's a world where things connected to the Internet can "think" and "communicate" for themselves.  It's a world where all the things mentioned here are already taking place.  It is the World of Today, and YOU are a part of it!

In celebration of International Girls in ICT Day 2015, g-Hive and Cisco Belux present "Girls & The Future Internet":  A hands-on workshop - in English, Dutch, French & German - for girls*, ages 13-17, to promote active participation and leadership by girls in designing and building the Internet of tomorrow, for fun, safety and wellbeing.

This two-hour workshop aims to:

• Give participants a background on the Internet of Things;
• Inspire participants to develop IoT projects with a focus on health, safety, entertainment, fashion, "smart" cities, etc.; and
• Promote participation in a global Cisco-sponsored contest for IoT projects by girls.

This workshop is organised by Ms. Rosanna Kurrer, DLI Digital Literacy Lead & g-Hive Community Manager, with the generous support of Cisco Belux.

GSMA has announced the launch of GSMA mWomenInnovation Fund grants for Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).  The goal of the GSMA mWomen Programme is to promote greater mobile access and usage by resource-poor women in low- and middle-income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa and the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

The objectives of the Innovation Fund for NGOs are to provide seed funding in order to:

• Accelerate the use of mobile technology to achievedevelopment-related goals, specifically theempowerment of resource-poor women
• Provide solutions to the barriers to women’s adoption and use of mobile phones and VAS
• Generate lessons and models of success which can be shared with the wider development community, as well as mobile operators
• Stimulate productive partnerships between NGOs and mobile operators in order to achieve these objectives at scale

This round of grants is dedicated to NGOs (including social enterprises), working in partnership with mobile networkoperators.  Its objectives are to:

• Provide seed funding to support the design and launch of innovative products, services, marketing approaches and distribution mechanisms aimed at increasing women’s access to mobile and use of life-enhancing mobile services
• Generate lessons and models of success which can be shared with the wider development community and the mobile industry
• Stimulate productive partnerships between NGOs and mobile network operators.

Please note that this round of grants is open only to NGOs.  The next round of grants for mobile network operators will be launched in the second half of 2013.

This round is comprised of three matching grants, valued up to US$ 140,000 for projects up to ten months long. The grants are intended to provide seed funding for NGOs, working in partnership with mobile network operators, to design and launch products, value added services, marketing campaigns and/or distribution mechanisms (‘offerings’) that will increase women’s access to and use of mobile and life-enhancing services.
