Para mujeres y niñas: Oportunidades en las TIC

En esta parte del portal de las niñas en las TIC figuran enlaces a becas, concursos y premios, formación y prácticas, redes en línea, campamentos tecnológicos, información sobre eventos nacionales del Día de las niñas en las TIC y otras iniciativas para fomentar y apoyar a las mujeres y las niñas a entrar en el sector de las TIC. Tenga en cuenta que cualquier pregunta que tenga respecto a cualquiera de los programas enumerados deberá dirigirse al proveedor del programa.

La UIT invita a instituciones académicas, empresas, agencias gubernamentales y de asistencia, ONG y otros organismos que ofrezcan becas, concursos y premios, formación y prácticas, redes en línea, campamentos tecnológicos y eventos del Día de las niñas en las TIC a añadir nuevos programas y actualizar la información publicada en este portal para mantenerla al día. Todo lo que necesita hacer es registrarse y añadir información sobre sus programas o modificarla. El administrador del Portal de las niñas en las TIC revisará su contenido antes de publicarlo.

¿Cómo buscar?

Puede filtrar los recursos de acuerdo con sus propias necesidades: por tipo de programa y por la región y el país en el que se ofrece. Los países se encuentran enumerados en la región correspondiente. Los programas que se ofrecen a nivel mundial o que no son específicos de una región se pueden encontrar mediante el filtro de programa mundial. Puede refinar la búsqueda hasta que encuentre lo que necesita.

Link provides information on scholarships for women around the world

Since 2011, ACSA has provided scholarships to women studying for their Bachelors and Masters degrees in fields relating to information security.  These $5000 to $10,000 scholarships provide assistance to women at formative stages of their careers.  With the addition of HP’s multi-year financial commitment to this program starting with the 2014-15 academic year, ACSA was able to increase the number of scholarships, in turn helping to increase the number of women in the field.

Applicant must be a woman, have a minimum 3.5 GPA, and attend an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution. Award is for education to advance applicant's career in engineering or computer science.

The Association of South African Women in Science and Engineering (SA WISE) is a dynamic association for all those who support the idea of strengthening the role of women in science and engineering in South Africa.

SA WISE aims to strengthen this role by inter alia:

  • raising the profile of women scientists and engineers
  • highlighting and addressing problems faced specifically by women in these fields
  • lobbying for the advancement of women in science and engineering
  • providing leadership and role models for young people wishing to enter the fields of science and engineering

An important function of SA WISE is to improve communication among women scientists and engineers, with e-mail being the preferred medium of communication. Members are encouraged to send ideas and information to SA WISE. SA WISE also maintains contact with other assocations of women in science and engineering world-wide

The North-eastern Wisconsin Chapter of AITP established this award program to honor the memory of Sherry Anklam, a Chapter Past President who embodied all of the best values that this award is based on.

The criteria for selection for this award includes academic achievement, leadership, AITP student chapter participation and community involvement.

 

Award Qualifications

Applicant must be a paid member of a student chapter affiliated with the Northeastern Wisconsin AITP Chapter (Dues must be submitted to National AITP)

Applicant can be a half-time student or a full-time student (as defined by their institution) pursuing a degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.

The award will be made on merit without reference to financial need

UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme (Science and Technology - 2011 )
With a view to promoting human resource capacities in the developing countries and to enhancing international understanding and friendship among nations, the UNESCO Chair for Science, Technology and Engineering Education at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland, are placing at the disposal of UNESCO twenty-two (22) fellowships of six (6) months duration starting on 1st October 2011 for the benefit of Member States listed in Annex I. Beneficiaries of these fellowships will be given the opportunity to undertake an individual research programme in the field of Science and Technology.

Awarded to the student entering third year who achieves the highest aggregate in Computer Science based on a full course load in second year, who is not already receiving a scholarship of $1,000 or more. Not specifically for women.

This scholarship is open to female students entering the second year of a degree program in either the College of Arts and Science or Edward's School of Business with a major in Computer Science. Students must enroll in 12 credit units of Computer Science at a 200-level as determined by the Selection Committee and described in the guidelines.
