This part of the Girls in ICT Portal contains links to scholarships, contests and awards, training and internships, online networks, tech camps, information about national Girls in ICT Day events and other initiatives to encourage and support women and girls to enter the ICT sector.  Please note that any questions you may have about any of the listed programs should be directed to the program provider.

For Academia, Companies, Governments and Organizations: Help Keep the Portal Current

ITU encourages academic institutions, companies, government and aid agencies, NGOs, and others that offer scholarships, contests and awards, training and internships, online networks, tech camps, and Girls in ICT Day events to add new programs and update the information posted here to keep it current.  All you need to do is register and add or edit information about your program.  The Girls in ICT Portal administrator will review your content before posting it to the public.

You will find countries listed under the relevant region. Programs offered globally or which are not specific to one region can be found by using the global program filter.  You may refine the search to best meet your needs.

All-Siberia Student Olympiad started in 1962 and was designed to attract more high school students into sciences.   Today winners of the olympiad not only get a chance to compete with other students, but also get accepted into elite summer math and physics school and subsequently into Novosibirsky State University. The subject areas include math, computer science, chemistry, biology and physics.

Computer summer camp for mid- and high school students. Camp offers several streams of studies - programming, algorythms, math and others. Competetive and interactive environment is designed to encourage students to take on additional IT and math studies, participate in student competetions  and prepare for university education in these fields.

Annual Open International Competition of Computer Projects among Kids, Youth and Students “DIGITAL WIND” is co-held by International Faculty of Applied Computer Technologies of Saratov State Technical University, Saratov Arena Multimedia Center and “Softline” group of companies (Moscow, Russia). Digital Wind is supported by The Ministry of Science and Education of Russia and by Aptech Ltd. (India).

Digital Wind Contest in digital animation and graphics design for students of several age groups between 7 and 21 y.o. The goal of Digital Wind Contest is nurturing creative potential in IT field and building digital animation/design skills of students at an early age.

The Competition aims at developing creative interest in information and computer technologies; improving practical skills in with the field of Internet technologies and computer graphics; studying of modern software for creating Web applications and Computer Animation.

Intel Summer School is a two-month internship program for undergraduate students in their 3rd and 4th year. Students get the opportunity to work at Intel during summer months participating in software development and learning about technology.

Summer, winter, and other schools supported by Intel

The Russian branch of Intel is actively working with leading universities in the country, promoting the introduction of new theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of information technology in the learning process. To do this, the company fully supports the schools, annually organized by the student's educational and research labs, created with the help of Intel Corporation in a number of universities in Russia.

These schools are held, usually during the summer and winter holidays, or during a semester in the evenings and weekends and are intensive training programs with the assistance of a faculty laboratory and head of the University, as well as invited experts, including engineers from Intel and other leading companies in the IT industry. Length of school - from one week to a month.

The main purpose of the school: the study of theoretical foundations and practical skills for the claimed subject matter.

Subjects of schools reflects the priorities in the field of information technology.

The most popular topics in recent years include:

    technology of parallel programming and high performance computing;
    
Computer graphics: computer vision, 3D-modeling, mediaobrabotka;
    
software services based on digital technology;
    
"Technology + business" - the promotion of innovation from idea to commercialization, development of leadership qualities.
