This part of the Girls in ICT Portal contains links to scholarships, contests and awards, training and internships, online networks, tech camps, information about national Girls in ICT Day events and other initiatives to encourage and support women and girls to enter the ICT sector. Please note that any questions you may have about any of the listed programs should be directed to the program provider.

For Academia, Companies, Governments and Organizations: Help Keep the Portal Current

ITU encourages academic institutions, companies, government and aid agencies, NGOs, and others that offer scholarships, contests and awards, training and internships, online networks, tech camps, and Girls in ICT Day events to add new programs and update the information posted here to keep it current. All you need to do is register and add or edit information about your program. The Girls in ICT Portal administrator will review your content before posting it to the public.

How to search?

Users can filter the resources in line with their own needs. You can filter by type of program and the region and country in which the program is offered. You will find countries listed under the relevant region. Programs offered globally or which are not specific to one region can be found by using the global program filter. You may refine the search to best meet your needs.

Girls Communication Career Connections

EDC, in collaboration with partners the Young Women's Leadership Charter School and Spy Hop Productions, has created a youth-produced, Web-based media series and companion educator materials on science and engineering careers targeting girls from underserved groups (minority populations, youth of low socioeconomic status and those with disabilities).

Girls in Engineering & Technology Program

The GET Set Program (GET stands for 'Girls in Engineering & Technology') is a fun, free day of non-competitive activities designed for female students in years 11 and 12 who wish to explore the tertiary study options at ANU and career paths available in engineering and computing.

Some comments from previous participants of the GET Set Program:

"It was great to get exposed to hands on area's information, rather than reading course information online. It was very helpful in determining my options."

"The sessions were great, and they went for a perfect amount of time so we never got bored or tired."

"I liked the fact that we got to go into different areas (of the University) and were able to talk to the people involved."

Girls in Tech Oz is a social network for people interested in supporting women who are interested in technology, focused on connecting, educating and empowering each other. This is done by holding casual meetups and mixers, helping out with area conferences and tech events, and taking on key community projects.
