The Scholarship Program is intended to encourage women and men, entering their first year at a New Brunswick college, to seek a non-traditional career where participation to date by women and men in these fields has been limited.

The Women in Skilled Trades and Information Technology Training program provides training for women in communities where skilled trades and IT workers are needed. It offers gender sensitive in-class and on-the-job training to women with low incomes who are unemployed or underemployed and helps them prepare for jobs. Training can take up to one year to complete.

The scholarship is intended to encourage awareness of and participation in the educational programs supported by the IEEE. It is intended to pay a major portion of the final year tuition fees and related expenses of a student who has demonstrated a previous commitment to the IEEE McNaughton Learning Resource Centre and related IEEE activities, and who indicates a desire to continue this activity.
